Neutron Diffractometer
The neutron diffractometer is an instrument dedicated to the study of the atomic and crystalline structure of materials. By analyzing neutron diffraction from matter, it allows the determination of atomic arrangements, crystalline phases and structural properties of samples.
Thanks to the high penetration capability of neutrons and their sensitivity to many chemical elements, the diffractometer provides unique information on metallic materials, ceramics, polymers, energy materials and magnetic systems.
Within the framework of the ICONE project, the diffractometer represents an essential tool for advanced materials characterization. It enables researchers to study internal structures, material evolution under different conditions, and the mechanisms responsible for their physical and functional properties.
