    Neutron Imaging

    Neutron imaging is a non-destructive technique that allows the visualization of the interior of materials through the transmission of neutrons through matter. Unlike X-rays, neutrons are particularly sensitive to certain light elements, such as hydrogen, providing unique contrasts for the study of complex materials.

    This method makes it possible to observe internal structures, fluid distribution, moisture content, defects and complex assemblies in a wide variety of industrial and scientific objects and materials. It is particularly useful for analyzing systems that remain difficult to study with other imaging techniques.

    Within the framework of the ICONE project, neutron imaging represents a key tool for advanced materials analysis, providing complementary information to other scattering and diffraction techniques.

    Neutron imaging provides a unique view of the inside of materials by combining deep penetration, sensitivity to light elements and non-destructive analysis of complex structures.
